The "D", "N" and "S" series hose is constructed by extruding a thin (.020-.040) layer of material over the plastic covered, helically wound support wire. The support wire in the "TPE" and "U" series hose is encapsulated between two layers of material to maintain their design characteristics. The support wire allows the hose to be used in higher negative pressure (Hg) applications without collapsing and provides excellent flexibility characteristics. In certain hose styles a reinforcing nylon yarn is wound over the initial cover material and is then covered by another layer of material. This cover layer is normally the color of the underlying layer but can be provided clear. Minor negative aspects of this type of hose are that once the hose is crushed it will not return to its original shape. It also draws shorter in length in vacuum applications and depending on the material cover is not very abrasion resistant. This hose is our most popular replacement hose.
